Synopsis - On beaming down to Gamma Hydra IV, the crew finds a couple in their twenties who look like they're in their nineties. Soon the entire landing party, with the exception of Chekov begins to age rapidly. Soon the highest ranking officer, who has no command experience, is forced to pass through the edge of the Romulan neutral zone.
The Deadly Years gave the cast a chance to have a little fun in some make-up, and can be applauded for it's excellent and believable aging make-up, particularly the Doctor and the Captain. It also sees a return to Romulan space, as the Enterprise risks crossing the Romulan Neutral Zone. Kirk once again uses his Corbomite ploy from the first season's The Corbomite Maneuver.
