The Enterprise journeys to Organia to offer protection before the Klingons arrive to impose dictatorship. They arrive to find the Organians not at all concerned about the Klingon threat, and seem to know everything on their world as it happens. rrand Of Mercy gives us our first look at Klingons and sets their tone as being a hostile race that is bent on power and control through dictatorship. The scene where Ayelborne frees Kirk and Spock from prison comes from the Bible (Acts 5:19), when the angel of the Lord came by night to open the prison doors for the apostles to escape. The peace treaty imposed, at the end of the episode, on the Klingons and the Federation would stand until the Deep Space Nine fourth season premiere The Way Of The Warrior; it would go back into effect within a year thereafter. That's not to say it didn't have ups and downs along the way; it was almost a couple of times by Kirk himself in the Feature Films. Canadian actor John Colicos would reprise his role in the late second season Deep Space Nine episode Blood Oath.
