omorrow Is Yesterday is another excellent episode dealing with time. It tells us that one must be careful when dealing with time, so as not to interrupt the timeline. At first Kirk wasn't going to sent Captain Christopher back because of the knowledge of the future he had gained by being on board. But when Spock did some further research, and discovered that although John Christopher hadn't made any notable contributions, his unborn son would grow up to lead an expidition to Saturn. This forced Kirk to find a way of returning him. This episode also features the first of just two uses of the "emergency signal" on the communicator. In this episode it was accidental by the Air Police Sargeant, but in the third season episode Day Of The Dove Kirk will use it to advise Scotty on how to handle the beam-up of the Klingons. Adding to the humour of this episode is the personality given to the computer voice. As an interesting note, Majel Barrett provides the female computer voice for the entire Original Series, Next Generation, Voyager, and the Starfleet computer voice on Deep Space Nine. She was never credited for it until part way through the Next Generation.
