he Alternative Factor shows us a man who's fighting a beast who is actually himself from an alternate timeline. These two Lazarus's are forever locked in combat, caught between worlds with their struggle ripping apart the fabric of the universe. This episode had potential for a real examination of the human condition, but was somehow lost. This might be attributed to the fact that the week they filmed this episode they were in much more of rush than usual on the set. Even the actor who played Lazarus, Robert Brown, had been a last minute replacement, when actor John Drew Barrymore became unavailable.
