he Squire Of Gothos features a character who many Star Trek fans theorize is actually a member of the Next Generation's "Q-Continuum". While this has never been proved to be true on the series, it does seem likely. The reason Trelene's powers are weaker than TNG's Q, could be attributed to the fact that he's just a child, as we learn at the end when his parents come to punish him. This could explain why Trelene was 5 centuries behind on his Earth history and why his wine and food had no flavour; also the fact that he'd naver actually visited Earth himself. Actor William Campbell who plays Trelene would return to Trek as Klingon Captain Koloth in the second season episode The Trouble With Tribbles, as well as Deep Space Nine's Blood Oath.
