A landing party beams down to a planet resembling 1960's Earth right down to the last detail. Editorial: |
iri was the first episode to really delve into the subject of life prolongation. Sure it was touched on with the Venus drug in Mudd's Women as well as with android bodies in What Are Little Girls Made Of?. But this dealt with a parallel Earth society that attempted to create a drug that would actually prolong physical life, not just improve beauty; and what went wrong when they failed. Kirk again was asked to take on a parental role, as he did in Charlie X, but this time he had to deal with the crush of a girl just coming into puberty.
